BIKE ITINERARIES FROM OCEAN EDGE

At Ocean Edge, you can hop on the Cape's 26-mile Bike & Rail Trail, a winding, wooded, rather bucolic path that brings hours of pleasure. But if you decide to venture off the trail, Brewster is as biker-friendly as they come. As long as you're not training for the Tour de France, the sidewalks are safe and pleasant for the casual biker. Our advice is to keep to your right, to yield to others when you can (veer onto the grass if your biking skills allow) and to understand when others cannot do the same for you - just smile. Everyone here does so, often and regularly.

To Route 6A from the Mansion:
Once you pick up bikes, helmets at maps at the Bay Pines shop, pedal or walk up the small hill from behind the Mansion by the Carriage House, take a right outside the Ocean Edge gates onto historic Route 6A, and let the fun begin.

To Cape Cod Bike and Rail Trail from the Mansion:
From the Mansion side, take a right out of the Mansion gates onto Route 6A. Take a left at "The Villages at Ocean Edge" sign and the White House reception area onto Villages Drive. Continue on Villages Drive until you see signs for the bike path entry on the right. If you pass the guard shack, you have gone too far!

To Cape Cod Bike Trail from the Villages:
Follow Villages Drive down the hill as if you are exiting the property on the Route 6A side. Pass the guard shack on the left and look for a sign to the bike path that leads to the bike trail on the left.
