At Ocean Edge Resort

At Ocean Edge, we love local and love supporting local. This year, we have launched our bi-weekly Fireside Enrichment Series where we invite you to come meet local artisans and discuss their works in the ambiance of our historic Mansion and newly redesigned La Salette lounge. Some of their work will be available for purchase. From woodworking to sea glass sculptures, Brewster is rich with talent when it comes to art. Come feed your artistic appetite with a visit to our Fireside Enrichment Series. Make it an evening and enjoy dinner at The Frost Bar with your family and pod.

Anne Forget

April 3, 2021

Ann Forget is a Cape Cod based artist and art educator also known as Ann Judge Design. Ann’s pieces have a bright, whimsical, abstract feeling expressing color, shape, form and movement. Ann finds inspiration from the natural beauty of landscapes, beachscapes and skyscapes. She likes to play around with the horizon line, as it can sometimes divide the painting into thirds or in half depending on the feel for which she is searching.

Ann also likes to incorporate subtle surprises between forms, adding squiggly lines in opposing colors to bring allure to the piece. She is trying to extract the essence of the image between organic shapes and the negative space. The artist usually works with acrylics but lately has added the element of oil pastel to enhance the color. Ann continues to create drawings, paintings and mono-prints which are rich with color depicting her abstract ideas and expressions.

Karen North Wells

Underground Art Gallery

Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 6-8PM

Karen North Wells, an award-winning artist based in Cape Cod, paints in all three media: watercolor, oil and acrylic. She considers herself an impressionistic painter, neither painting absolute realism, nor abstraction but somewhere in the middle.

Karen regularly paints florals, boats, still lifes, landscapes and seascapes, but bringing buildings and water views to life for special commissions are Karen's specialties.

"My goal now in life is to be a healer through my painting. I can't paint sad pictures," says Karen. "[My work has] to reveal the happiness that I feel. I want people to smile when they look at my paintings.

In addition to her commissioned original paintings, Karen has an extensive line of dozens of limited-edition prints and cards, making her work affordable to all.  She also teaches painting workshops for The Cape Cod Art Association in Barnstable, MA, the Council on Aging in Orleans, MA and The Creative Arts Centers in Chatham, MA and at her Underground Art Gallery.

Bringing JOY to others by creating art from reclaimed wood!
Formerly in the field of architecture and construction, I became distressed when I saw the amount of beautiful wood and materials being thrown away into dumpsters/landfills.

Taking my passion for woodworking and my fervor to save our planet through recycling, I decided to create art by recycling wood (meant for burn pile or landfills) and refinishing it into beautiful pieces of beach folk art. ALL wood is locally sourced and reclaimed here on Cape Cod!

The purpose of Cape Cod Land Shark is to bring joy to people by creating whimsical, folksy, vintage-finished art…saving trees and wood by recycling materials.

live at the edge music series. every friday - sunday from 6:30-8:30pm on the front lawn
