A Message From Our General Manager

Dear Valued Guest,

I hope you are having a wonderful summer so far. We are thrilled to see so many familiar faces this season, as well as many new ones. As always, our commitment to your safety and well-being as well as that of our team members remains our top priority. With that being said, I would like to take this opportunity to update you on current happenings at the resort this season. Please note our website will always have the most up to date information.

CHANGES TO RESORT PROCEDURES

Last spring, we provided our team members with on-site vaccination clinics so that every team member could have access to the vaccine. We will continue to offer these vaccination clinics, and we strongly encourage our team members to get the vaccine. Shortly after restrictions were lifted in Massachusetts over Memorial Day Weekend, vaccinated team members were no longer required to wear masks. We have always adhered to recommendations set forth by the Center for Disease Control, and with their most recent update - effective immediately - all Ocean Edge team members are required to wear masks while indoors.

In addition to all restaurant tables and chairs being sanitized, we will now be sanitizing all tables and lounge chairs at our pools and beach prior to opening.

We will continue to offer daily housekeeping service at both The Mansion and The Villages, but please know that you can opt out of this service at check-in or at any point during your stay if you prefer.

For guests staying at The Mansion at Ocean Edge, we are pleased to provide you with contactless in-room dining from 7am-9pm daily.

While guests are not required to wear masks anywhere throughout our 429-acre property except for when riding our shuttles, we encourage unvaccinated guests to wear masks while indoors for their own safety and that of our guests and team members. If you do not have a mask and would like one, please contact one of our team members and we will be happy to provide one.

CONTACTLESS CHECK-IN

Last summer, we introduced our new contactless check-in feature. This became quite popular with guests for both safety and convenience. We are thrilled to soon be upgrading that experience with digital room keys. Contactless check-in will no longer require guests to pick up room keys upon arrival, but rather it will allow guests to head directly to their room, open the app, open the door, and let their vacation begin.

SAFETY MEASURES AROUND PROPERTY

We will continue to adhere to the following procedures:

      • Hand sanitizing stations have been placed throughout the resort at our restaurants, restrooms, guestroom corridors, indoor facilities, common areas, and other high traffic areas. These stations are checked and refilled daily
      • All restaurants will continue to offer contactless QR code menus
      • Protective divider shields are placed at both The Mansion and The Villages check-in desks, and will remain there until further notice

We are happy it is safe to travel again, and we are thrilled to see you all back at Ocean Edge. As stated before, your safety and well-being remain our top priority. Please know that we will continue to update our resort-wide procedures to remain in line with CDC recommendations as well as state and government guidelines so that we may provide you with not only a fun vacation, but a safe and healthy one. Our team looks forward to welcoming you back this summer and beyond as we are ramping up our fall, winter, and spring programming. There is no such thing as the “off-season” anymore at Ocean Edge, so check our site in the coming weeks for more details.

Stay safe. We hope to see you soon!

In accordance with the May 17 announcement by Governor Baker, most restrictions in Massachusetts were lifted effective May 29 with a few exceptions. Our commitment to your safety and well-being as well as that of our team members remains our top priority and as such, the resort will continue many of the practices that we adopted during the pandemic.

- We will continue to strategically place hand sanitizing stations throughout the resort and our numerous dining outlets
- Dining tables and chairs will be sanitized between each seating
- Safety shields will temporarily remain in place at our Front Desk
- We are now pleased to offer daily housekeeping service to our Mansion and Village-side guests effective immediately. Please know that you always have the option to opt out of this service by informing us of your preference during check-in
- Shuttle drivers will be required to wear masks when transporting guests, and we ask that guests riding the shuttle also wear a mask
- We are pleased to offer you a contactless check-in experience again this year

Updated May 20, 2020, to reflect new open date of June 8, 2020.

Dear Valued Guest,

I hope this message finds you and your loved ones in good health. You may recall my last communication in March indicating the time period during which the property would remain closed. At that time, I promised to notify you of our planned reopening, and update you on the steps that we would take in preparation for serving you in this new environment.

We are currently scheduled to restart Resort operations on June 8, 2020. It goes without saying that we will continue to monitor and follow Federal, State and Local regulations. As the situation surrounding COVID19 evolves, we are also following guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  We will of course revise our schedule based on the direction of those authorities and revise our operations plan accordingly if required. We will gradually start reopening our amenities and outlets throughout the property. Our website will be the best source for schedule updates and hours of operation.

The safety of our property guests, club members and team members has always been, and remains, our highest priority. Rest assured our team is excited to welcome you back. We have spent countless hours discussing and implementing plans so that we are prepared to serve you in a safe, sterile and efficient manner. I would like to highlight just a few of these steps.

  • Reduced capacities will be implemented at all Resort amenities to include our many pools, private beach, workout facilities, shuttles, etc.
  • Social distancing practices will be observed at all resort restaurants and bars. This will require limiting seating capacity at all outlets with tables that are separated by at least 6’ and limited bar seating.
  • Enhanced room service offerings and takeout options will be available for those that do not wish to dine within our outlets even with a limited capacity.
  • Disposable menus will be implemented in our restaurants. Furthermore, a scannable QR code will be provided tableside for guests that prefer to use their personal phone to review our menus.
  • Automatic hand sanitization dispensers have been installed in high traffic areas for guests and employees. This includes Registration desks, entrances to all restaurants and meeting space.
  • New social distancing practices will be implemented during the Resort check in and checkout process limiting the number of guests and time needed to be spent within the registration area.
  • Thorough guestroom sanitization plans, over and above our current superior standards, will be implemented on the Mansion and Villages sides of the Resort.
  • Upon request, we will refrain from providing daily housekeeping service and restrict any team member from accessing your guestroom.
  • Enhanced schedule of servicing, sanitization and cleaning of all Resort public areas to include common touch points such as door frames, doorknobs, handles, rails, phones, remote controls, and elevators just to name a few.

I would like to thank you for your continued loyalty throughout the years. On behalf of my entire team, please know that we sincerely look forward to welcoming you back to the Resort. Until then, please stay safe and be well.

Warmest regards,
Robert J. Newman

Dear Valued Guest,

The safety of our guests, club members and team members has always been, and remains, our highest priority. To that end, we are delaying our 2020 re-opening until mid-May 2020. As for the Golf course, in accordance with the current direction from the Governor’s office, our Nicklaus Design golf course remains closed at this time.

As the situation surrounding Coronavirus evolves, we are following guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization. Our standard operation follows a strict regimen for the cleaning and sanitization of our Resort including all rooms and public spaces. We have implemented many new procedures throughout our Resort and Club for the safety and comfort of our guests, club members and team members. Finally, we are working with local authorities to ensure we have the latest information about screening, prevention and containment protocols so that we may be best prepared to serve you.

We will notify you within the coming weeks of our reopening date. Please note at this time, there are no travel warnings issued for Massachusetts related to COVID-19. Many tourism and economic activities are operating under normal circumstances. Airports and motorways are open and operational, as are many public spaces and attractions near the Resort.

As the situation is ever-changing, travelers should continue to monitor the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization’s websites for the latest updates. We are diligently working to ensure that our team is addressing any concerns that you may have regarding your future stay, and I invite you to reach out with any further questions to stay@oceanedge.com.

We thank you for your continued loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back to Cape Cod and Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club soon.

Best Regards,
Robert J. Newman
