America's 250th Anniversary at Ocean Edge
Where history has always had a home
The Nickerson Mansion has stood on Cape Cod for more than 125 seasons—witness to the tides of American life, from the Gilded Age to the present day. As our nation celebrates its 250th anniversary, Ocean Edge invites guests to step inside that story. The Fieldstone Legacy Series is a summer-long program of lectures, guided tours, timeless rituals, and heritage experiences designed to connect you—past, present, and future.

Letter-Writing, Past & Present
Slow down. Pick up a pen. At our dedicated writing station, guests are invited to compose handwritten letters—to a friend, a loved one, or even their future self—just as the Nickerson family and the La Salette Missionaries once did from this very property. Curated stationery, pens, and writing prompts are provided. Postage is available for on-site mailing.
Additional journals, premium stationery, and writing tools available in Addie's Gift Shop, open daily in The Mansion.
Heritage cocktail series
Enjoy a taste of history, poured properly.
Every great era had its drink. Our mixologists are not only passionate about the formula; they're also passionate about the stories behind each glass—two centuries of American ingenuity, rebellion, and hospitality, distilled into a rotating cocktail program available across our outlets throughout the season.
The Sazerac
Considered America's first cocktail, developed by Antoine Peychaud in New Orleans—a city that knew how to celebrate long before the republic caught up.
The Pisco Punch
Born in the late 19th century at San Francisco's Bank Exchange Saloon—a regular haunt of Mark Twain, who reportedly swapped stories there with the fireman who inspired Tom Sawyer
The Last Word
Invented at the Detroit Athletic Club during Prohibition, likely mixed with bathtub gin. A drink that insisted on elegance even when the law said otherwise.
The Eagle (alcohol-free)
Born in the early 1900s and shaped by the ingenuity of the Prohibition era, The Eagle became a symbol of boldness and reinvention — proof that American creativity thrives under constraint. Our alcohol-free interpretation blends cranberry, pineapple, and ginger beer into something bright, spiced, and quietly spirited.
Find these cocktails in The Mansion this summer; Bayzo's Pub, The Roscommon Room, and Ocean Terrace.
