The Cape’s First Oyster Cage Christmas Tree Debuts at Ocean Edge
This holiday season, Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club is proud to unveil something truly extraordinary on the Mansion Front Lawn — the Cape’s first-ever Oyster Cage Christmas Tree, created in partnership with Brewster Oysters.
Crafted from over 220 oyster cages, this stunning installation is more than a festive showpiece… it’s a celebration of Cape Cod’s maritime roots, local shellfishing traditions, and the thriving blue economy that shapes the Brewster community.
Starting November 28, guests and locals alike can visit the Oyster Cage Tree as part of The Festive Forest, our month-long holiday display featuring 25 decorated trees from local businesses and organizations. But this centerpiece is something truly special — a tribute to the Cape’s heritage, creativity, and sense of place.
Brewster Oysters operates an impressive aquaculture farm on the Brewster Flats, just steps from Ocean Edge’s private beach. During the warmer months, guests can join guided tours of these oyster beds — walking the tidal flats, learning about sustainable harvesting, and experiencing firsthand the rich maritime culture that defines this stretch of Cape Cod Bay.
When planning our 2025 Festive Forest, partnering with Brewster Oysters felt like a natural fit. Together, we envisioned a holiday display that celebrates the Cape’s coastal character in a way only Brewster can.
Owner Brian Daley and his dedicated team took that idea and ran with it — arriving at Ocean Edge with truckloads of oyster cages, tools in hand, and a mission to build something never before seen on Cape Cod: a towering, sparkling Oyster Cage Christmas Tree rising proudly on the Mansion Lawn.
The result is both whimsical and rugged — a tree that feels at home against the backdrop of the historic Nickerson Mansion and the sweeping Cape Cod landscape.
