Meet Your Retreat Leader: Jenya Nesterova

At the heart of Plunge & Presence is a practice rooted in breath, discipline, and tradition — and guiding that work is Jenya Nesterova, 500-hour certified yoga teacher and recovery-informed facilitator.

Jenya specializes in breath-led movement and nervous system regulation, blending mindful yoga, conscious breathing, and embodied awareness to cultivate resilience and grounded presence. Her teaching is calm, structured, and deeply rooted in the traditional lineage she studied in India — where she traveled to immerse herself in yoga at its origin.

For Jenya, yoga is not a trend. It is a lifelong discipline.

Her path began with a simple intention: to heal back pain. What followed was something much deeper. Through asana, breathwork, mindfulness, and the ethical principles of yoga, she rebuilt her life — becoming sober, vegetarian, and eventually founding Breath and Sound INC, a nonprofit supporting individuals in recovery through embodied healing practices.

That lived experience shapes everything she teaches.

Rooted in Cold, Guided by Presence

Born in Kazakhstan, Jenya grew up immersed in cold-water traditions — from Orthodox holiday plunges to running from her grandfather’s sauna straight into the snow. These early experiences taught her that resilience is not about force. It’s about presence.

At Plunge & Presence at Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club this March, Jenya prepares participants for cold immersion through intentional breath and mindful movement. After the plunge, she guides grounding yoga practices that restore balance and create space for reflection and integration.

Her approach honors the lineage of yoga as it was passed down to her, preserving the steadiness and depth of the practice rather than adapting it to trends. This allows participants to experience yoga in its full integrity — as a tool for awareness, clarity, and transformation.

What to Expect with Jenya

This retreat is an invitation to experience body, breath, and mind in new ways — whether it’s your first cold plunge or a return to practices that have long supported you.

This retreat weekend includes:

  • Friday evening introductions, intention setting, breathwork, and Reiki

  • Saturday energizing morning yoga

  • Social sauna and guided ocean cold immersion

  • A floating sound bath led by Jenya

  • Sunday restorative yoga with journaling and integration

The rhythm of the weekend feels like a fresh start. Movement. Healthy meals. Intentional conversations. Time to pause. Time to connect.

Jenya is most excited to witness the friendships that form — the way shared vulnerability turns into support and connection.

Participants leave with practical tools they can bring home: breath practices for stress, mindful movement for clarity, and reflection techniques that build resilience long after the weekend ends.

As Jenya says, this retreat is your time to do something truly important for yourself — and to take it with you when you go.

It’s a win-win.
