Ocean Edge Named Top Resort in New England

More than 750,000 readers weighed in and landed out Cape Cod beach resort in New England's top five.

We have some news, and we're a little giddy about it.

Condé Nast Traveler readers just named Ocean Edge the No. 5 resort in New England in the 2026 Readers' Choice Awards. More than 750,000 readers across the U.S. weighed in on their favorite travel experiences this year, and enough of them thought of a certain stretch of Cape Cod Bay to put us in the top five. The full list is live at cntraveler.com today and will appear in the magazine's November issue.

To everyone who voted, visited, or stayed one more night: thank you. High five.

What 750,000 readers found

It starts with the setting. Ocean Edge sits on 429 acres along the Brewster Flats, North America's largest beach flats, and it's one of the few places on the East Coast where the sun sets straight into open water. At the center is the Nickerson Mansion, the fieldstone estate built here in 1890.

Around it, you'll find a private beach on Cape Cod Bay, a private Nicklaus Design golf course, five pools, nine tennis courts, dedicated pickleball courts, and The Beach House Spa, named one of USA Today's Top 10 Hotel Spas in 2025 and 2026.

Your stay, your way

What we think readers really responded to is the freedom. You choose how you stay: AAA Four-Diamond rooms in the Mansion Collection, the multi-bedroom Bay Pines Collection steps from the beach, a spacious villa in The Villages, or the adults-only calm of our sister inn, The Charm on Main, just down the road. Then you shape each day around what you love. A round of golf. A floating sound bath. An oyster farm tour on the flats. Or an afternoon that goes entirely unplanned.

As our General Manager, Kyung Lee, puts it: "Readers didn't just visit Ocean Edge. They found their own version of it: the morning swim in the Bay, the long dinner on the terrace, the extra night nobody planned. This ranking belongs to our team, who make that freedom feel effortless every day."
